孙毓忠，男，博士，研究员。1991年在西安交通大学信息与控制工程系获工学学士学位。1997年于中国科学院计算技术研究所获得工学博士学位。1997年至1999年在香港大学从事博士后研究，2000年在美国新墨西哥大学从事博士后研究。2001年至2003年在美国硅谷的公司中从事video-on-demand和backup服务器的研发工作。2003年起为中国科学院计算技术研究所研究员。

孙毓忠在美国、香港从事博士后研究期间，活跃在集群与网格系统研究的国际前沿。首次提出了RecursiveCubeofRings互联网络体系结构，由于它的优良的拓扑特性，适合作为MPP大型机的互联网络。首次提出了GeneralizedBlockShiftNetwork互联网络体系结构，其独特的拓扑特性使它适合于机群和网格系统的可扩展性的独特要求。针对任意拓扑结构发展了高效的barrier同步算法，提出了如何建立同步树和提供硬件支持的router体系结构。以上研究成果均达到国际先进水平。近来致力于发展面向绿色Internet计算的可信软件系统平台技术，探索新形式的OS技术、计算模型与编程模型。
